b. Using suitable socket and hammer, drive in new oil seal.

Assembly

1.

Coat all sliding surfaces with power steering fluid.

2.

Install pump shaft with bearing into front housing.

3.

Using suitable plastic hammer, drive short straight pin to front plate.

4.

Align cam ring holes with straight pins and install cam ring with inscribed mark facing upward.

5.

Install rotor with inscribed marks facing outward.

6.

Coat vane plates with power steering fluid, then install vane plates with round end facing outward.

7.

Install rear plate O-ring, then align rear plate holes with pins and install rear plate.

8.

Install suction port union.

9.

Install spring, flow control valve, O-ring and pressure port union, tighten to specifications.

10.

Install suction port O-ring and suction port union to housing, tightening to specifications.

11.

Using tool No. 09613-00012 or equivalent, press pulley to pump shaft until .071-.087 inch of shaft is above pulley.

12.

Ensure pump shaft rotates smoothly without abnormal noise.

13.

Install pulley nut and check rotating torque, 2.4 inch lbs. or less should be indicated.
