Steering Gear: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation

Refer to Fig. 4, for steering gear replacement, noting the following:
a. Using tool No. 09611-12010 or equivalent, remove tie rod end.
b. Place installation alignment marks on universal joint and shaft, then remove joint lower bolt and loosen upper bolt. Slide joint upward to
disconnect.
c. Using tool No. 09633-00020 or equivalent, disconnect power steering gear pressure and return lines.
d. Turn gear housing rearward and slide through LH side opening to remove.
