removing belts.

3.

Remove equipment drive pulley.

4.

Remove No. 2 equipment drive housing insulator and No. 3 equipment drive housing stay, Fig. 25.

5.

Remove No. 4 and No. 5 equipment drive housing stays.

6.

Scribe matchmarks on rear flexible coupling flange and crankshaft pulley.

7.

Install service bolt and nut to front end of equipment driveshaft, Fig. 26.

8.

Rotate driveshaft by turning service nut, then remove three (A) bolts and washers. Do not remove bolts (B).

9.

Remove bolts retaining driveshaft and equipment drive housing, Fig. 27.

10.

Disconnect equipment drive housing ground strap from body.

11.

Remove nuts and washers from No. 1 equipment drive housing insulator and body bracket.

12.

Lift up equipment drive housing, then rotate driveshaft approximately 60° clockwise and remove from rear end of driveshaft housing.

13.

Lower equipment drive housing, then set in body bracket.

INSPECTION 

1.

Check front and rear flexible coupling for cracks and damage.

2.

Rotate flange of shaft, ensuring it rotates smoothly without binding or creaking.

3.

Using suitable gauge and support, check shaft for runout. Runout should not exceed 0.031 inch.

4.

Inspect fluid coupling for leaks.

5.

If any of the above criteria is not met, replace the driveshaft.
