Connecting The SST To The Fuel Filter

5. Place the tip of the injector in a graduated beaker.  Turn on the ignition switch.
6. Using a service wire, short the terminals on the service check connector.

7. Connect a SST jumper wire to the injector terminals and apply battery current to the injector for 15 seconds.

Checking The Fuel Injector Spray Pattern

8. Measure the injection volume of each injector.  Repeat test 2 or 3 times on each injector to ensure accuracy.

Volume:

4.0 - 4.6 cu in. (65 - 75cc) per 15 sec.

9. If not within specifications, replace the Fuel Injector.

10. Test all injectors for volume variance.  There should be 0.4 cu in. (6cc) or less difference.
11. After testing injection volume, remove current from injector and test for leakage.
12. If the injector leaks more than one drop per minute, replace the injector.
13. Remove the service wire from the service check connector and turn off the ignition switch.
14. Remove the SST from the fuel rail and Fuel Pressure Regulator.
15. Install the fuel rail and components, refer to COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PROCEDURES.
