Clean the Equipment Drive Shaft.

A.

Snugly fasten the Equipment Drive Shaft in a vise.

NOTE:

Do not overtighten the propeller shaft tube in the vise.

Never clamp the bearing with a vise.

^

Never hit the bearing with a hammer.

B.

Using an air nozzle, remove the dust from the flexible coupling, cleaning mainly around the centering seal.

NOTE:

Do not use cleaners on the flexible coupling.

3.

Remove the front flexible coupling.

A.

Paint alignment marks on the flanges of the bearing and the propeller shaft tube.

NOTE:

Do not place alignment marks using a punch, etc.
