a. Prepare the hand-held tester.
b. Connect the hand-held tester to DLC3.
c. Turn the ignition switch ON and switch the hand-held tester main switch ON.
d. Use the hand-held tester to check the DTCs, note them down. (For opening instructions, see the hand-held tester's instruction book.)

With Generic Scan Tool

TOYOTA does not provide a procedure for Reading Trouble Codes With Generic Scan Tool.

Without Scan Tool

DTC CHECK (Using diagnosis check wire)

a. Using SST, connect terminals Tc and CG of DLC3.

b. Turn the ignition switch ON.
c. Read the DTC on the open door indicator light.
