Idle Speed: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION 

1. INSTALL CONDITIONS

a. Air cleaner installed
b. All pipes and hoses of air induction system connected
c. All vacuum lines properly connected
d. EFI system wiring connectors fully plugged
e. All operating accessories switched OFF
f.

Ignition timing check correctly

g. Transmission in parking range
h. Air conditioning switched OFF

2. ACTIVATE INSPECTION MODE AND WARM UP ENGINE

3. CONNECT TOYOTA HAND-HELD TESTER

a. Connect the TOYOTA hand-held tester to the DLC3.
b. Please refer to the TOYOTA hand-held tester operator's manual for further details.

4. INSPECT IDLE SPEED

a. Race the engine at 2,250 rpm for approximately 90 seconds.

HINT:  At the accelerator opening angle of 60% or more, the engine speed is controlled at 2,250 rpm.

b. Check the idle speed.

Idle speed (w/ Cooling fan OFF): 1,000 ± 50 rpm 
If the idle speed is not as specified, check the air intake system.

5. STOP ENGINE
6. DISCONNECT TOYOTA HAND-HELD TESTER
