(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR)
OK -- REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR

13. CHECK FOR OPEN IN ONE SIDE OF BRANCH WIRE (4WD CONTROL ECU)

NOTE:  For vehicles without 4WD, go to "Check for Open in One Side of Branch Wire (Center Airbag Sensor Assembly Branch Wire)".
(a) Disconnect the E57 4WD control ECU assembly connector.
(b) Select "CAN Bus Check" on the Techstream See: Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/Diagnosis System.

Result

B -- CHECK FOR OPEN IN ONE SIDE OF BRANCH WIRE (CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY BRANCH WIRE)
A -- Continue to next step.

14. CHECK FOR OPEN IN ONE SIDE OF BRANCH WIRE (4WD CONTROL ECU BRANCH WIRE)

(a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal before measuring the resistance of the main wire and the branch wire.
CAUTION:  Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:  When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (4WD CONTROL ECU)
