Repair Procedure

Use the following procedure to replace the front door lock.

Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), 2007 model year RAV4 Repair Manual:

Vehicle Exterior - Door/Hatch - "Engine Hood / Door: Front Door: Disassembly"

Vehicle Exterior - Door/Hatch - "Engine Hood / Door: Front Door: Reassembly"

HINT:
The procedure is the same for BOTH the LH and RH sides.

Removal:

1.

Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION

Wait AT LEAST 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner
activation.

NOTE:

If using a screwdriver to detach clips and claws in steps 2 - 7, tape the screwdriver tip before use.
