Seat Occupant Sensor: Service and Repair
Removal

SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU: REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system
before servicing    See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Service Precautions.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected    See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning.

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH (for Manual Seat)

(a) Remove the front seat assembly RH    See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Seat Assembly (for

Manual Seat)/Removal.

3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH (for Power Seat)

(a) Remove the front seat assembly RH    See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Seat Assembly (for

Power Seat)/Removal.

4. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (for Manual Seat)

(a) Disconnect the connector from the occupant classification ECU.

(b) Disengage the claw and occupant classification ECU.

5. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (for Power Seat)

(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors from the occupant classification ECU.

(b) Disengage the claw and occupant classification ECU.
