Air Spring: Service and Repair
Removal
REAR SUSPENSION: REAR PNEUMATIC CYLINDER: REMOVAL
NOTICE:
*
Do not extend the pneumatic cylinder during or after removal.
*
Do not put air in the pneumatic cylinder when it is removed from the vehicle.
*
Do not remove the pneumatic cylinder from the vehicle without releasing the air first.
*
When the pneumatic cylinder is fitted on the vehicle, do not remove the absorber. Doing so will cause the No. 2 lower arm to move
beyond its normal stroke in the rebound direction.
*
Do not remove the bolt from the bottom of the pneumatic cylinder if the pneumatic cylinder is not filled with air.
*
When performing this procedure, support the vehicle frame and maintain the No. 2 lower arm height at a position lower than the
normal vehicle height.
1. REMOVE REAR PNEUMATIC CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Insert a piece of wood between the jack and the No. 2 lower arm, and raise the No. 2 lower arm.
(b) Remove the bolt.
(c) Remove the clip on the upper side of the rear pneumatic cylinder.
(d) Disconnect the height control tube See: Service Precautions/Suspension Control System.
(e) Gently lower the jack and remove the rear pneumatic cylinder.
