Repair Procedure

1.

Test drive the vehicle and confirm that the abnormal noise is occurring.

2.

Using ChassisEAR(TM), confirm that the source of abnormal noise is one or both of the rear axle bearings.

NOTE:

If ChassisEAR(TM) is NOT available, raise the vehicle on a lift and use a mechanics stethoscope to confirm that the source of the noise is one
or both of the rear axle bearings.

3.

Place the vehicle on a lift and raise the vehicle.

4.

Remove ABS speed sensor on the axle side with the identified bearing noise and examine the inside of the rear axle housing for corrosion.

Disconnect the speed sensor connector.
