DRIVE SHAFT / PROPELLER SHAFT: FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY: DISASSEMBLY

DISASSEMBLY

1. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE INNER SHAFT OUTER SHAFT SNAP RING

(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the shaft snap ring.

NOTE:  Do not damage the spline of the inboard joint shaft.

2. REMOVE FRONT AXLE NO. 1 INBOARD JOINT BOOT SETTING CLAMP

(a) Using a side cutter, cut the No. 1 inboard joint boot setting clamp and remove it.

3. REMOVE FRONT AXLE NO. 2 INBOARD JOINT BOOT SETTING CLAMP

(a) Using a side cutter, cut the No. 2 inboard joint boot setting clamp and remove it.

4. DISCONNECT FRONT DRIVE SHAFT INBOARD JOINT BOOT

(a) Disconnect the inboard joint boot from the inboard joint shaft.

5. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT INBOARD JOINT SHAFT ASSEMBLY

(a) Place matchmarks on the inboard joint shaft and inboard joint shaft.

NOTE:  Do not punch the marks.

(b) Using a screwdriver, remove the snap ring from the outboard joint shaft.
(c) Remove the inboard joint shaft from the outboard joint shaft.
