Airbag Sensor Assembly: Testing and Inspection
Side and Curtain Shield Airbag Sensor

Collision / Non-Collision Inspections

Vehicles not involved in collision:

INSPECT SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
Do a diagnostic system check.

Vehicles involved in collision and airbag is not deployed:

INSPECT SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM 
Do a diagnostic system check.

Vehicles involved in collision and airbag is deployed:

INSPECT SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
Replace the side and curtain shield airbag sensor assembly.

Replacement Requirements

REPLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS

In the following cases, replace the side and curtain shield airbag sensor assembly.

-

If the side and curtain shield airbag assembly has been deployed in a collision.

-

If the side and curtain shield airbag sensor assembly has been found to be faulty in troubleshooting.

-

If the side and curtain shield airbag sensor assembly has been dropped.

CAUTION:  For removal and installation of the  side and curtain shield airbag sensor assembly, be sure to follow the correct procedure.
