Introduction
Some 2004 model year Sienna vehicles may experience rear disc brake groan noise during brake application. The rear disc brake pad material has been
changed to minimize this condition.

Repair Procedure
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) and follow the Repair Procedure in the 2004 model year Sienna Repair Manual: Brake: Rear Disc
Brake: Overhaul.
1.
Resurface the rear disc.
2.
Install the countermeasure brake pad kit. Replace the shims if the originals are damaged or corroded.

This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from
the vehicle's in-service date.
