Throttle Valve Cable/Linkage: Service and Repair

ON-VEHICLE REPAIR 

1. w/CRUISE CONTROL:

REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL ACTUATOR
a. Remove the battery.
b. Disconnect the connector, remove the 3 bolts and cruise control actuator.

2. DISCONNECT THROTTLE CABLE FROM ENGINE

Disconnect the cable from the throttle cable bracket.

3. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION (PNP) SWITCH
4. REMOVE VALVE BODY

5. REMOVE THROTTLE CABLE

a. Remove the bolt and retaining plate.
b. Pull out the cable from the transaxle case.

6. INSTALL THROTTLE CABLE

If the throttle cable is new, perform the following operations a thru c.
a. Bend the cable so that there is radius of about 200 mm (7.87 inch).
b. Pull the inner cable lightly until the resistance is slightly felt, and hold it there.
c. Stake the stopper, 0.8 - 1.5 mm (0.031 - 0.059 inch) from the end of the outer cable.
