Clutch Pedal Assembly: Adjustments

Check clutch pedal height, Fig. 1.

2.

Clutch pedal height should be as follows:
a. On 1989 Celica models, 6.02-6.42 inches.
b. On 1990-92 Celica models, 6.41-6.80 inches.
c. On Supra models, 6.18-6.57 inches.

On all models, if clutch pedal height is not as specified, loosen locknut and turn adjusting bolt until specified clutch pedal height is obtained, then
tighten adjusting bolt locknut.

Clutch freeplay should be as follows: 
a. On Supra with turnover clutch, .20-.59 inch. pushrod play at pedal should be .04-.20 inch.

b.

On Celica models, freeplay should be 0.197-0.591 inch.

5.

On all models, if clutch pedal freeplay is not as specified, loosen locknut and turn pushrod adjusting screw until specified pedal freeplay is
obtained.

6.

Tighten locknut, then recheck clutch pedal height.
