Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair
Heated Oxygen Sensor

REMOVAL

1. Allow the engine and exhaust system to cool down completely before continuing.
2. Disconnect the electrical terminal at the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S).
3. Being careful not to break off the bolts, remove the two fastening nuts and remove the HO2S and gasket.

NOTE: Do not use rust penetrant fluid unless absolutely necessary. The silicone in the fluid may contaminate the HO2S if contacted.

INSTALLATION

1. Replace the gasket and install the HO2S Sensor.
2. Install the nuts and washers and secure.
3. Reconnect the electrical connector.
