T100 Regular Cab Pickup 2WD L4-2693cc 2.7L DOHC MFI (1998)
a. Remove the two bolts and disconnect the shock absorber lower side from the lower suspension arm.
Torque: 19 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
b. Hold the shock absorber and remove the set nut, two retainers, cushion and shock absorber.
Torque: 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
c. Remove the two retainers and cushion from the shock absorber.
INSPECTION
1. Inspect the shock absorber by compressing and extending the shock absorber piston rod and check that there is no abnormal resistance or unusual
operation sounds. If there is any abnormality, replace the shock absorber with a new one.
DISPOSAL
1. Fully extend the shock absorber rod.
2. Using a drill, make a hole in the cylinder, as shown to remove the gas inside.
CAUTION: The gas coming out is harmless, but be careful of chips which may fly up when drilling.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
