d. Tighten the tie rod end lock nut.
Torque: 56 Nm (41 ft. lbs.).
e. Place the boot on the seat and clip it.
NOTE: Insure that the boots are not twisted.
7. Inspect the wheel angle by turning the steering wheel fully, and measure the turning angle.
STD Cab 1/2 Ton:
Inside Wheel: 40°40' ± 2°.
Outside Wheel (Reference): 35°06'.
Left-Right Error: 30'.
STD Cab 1 Ton:
Inside Wheel: 40°23' ± 2°.
Outside Wheel (Reference): 35°19'.
Left-Right Error: 30'.
Extra Cab:
Inside Wheel: 40°50' ± 2°.
Outside Wheel (Reference): 35°41'.
Left-Right Error: 30'.
If the wheel angle differ from the standard specifications, check to see if the lengths of the left and right tie rods are the same.
NOTE: If the tie rods lengths are not equal, the wheel angle can not be adjusted properly. Reinspect the toe-in after adjusting the tie rods lengths.
