Tacoma 2WD V6-4.0L (1GR-FE) (2006)
3. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER
a. Disconnect the brake fluid level warning switch connector.
b. for Manual Transmission:
(1) Disconnect the clutch reservoir tube from the reservoir.
c. Using SST disconnect the 2 brake lines from the brake master cylinder.

d. Remove the 2 nuts, then pull the brake master cylinder out of the brake booster.
e. Remove the O-ring from the brake master cylinder.
INSTALLATION
1. INSPECT AND ADJUST BRAKE BOOSTER PUSH ROD
NOTICE: Make adjustments while the brake booster has no vacuum in it. (Depress the brake pedal several times with the engine stopped.)
HINT: The brake booster push rod should be adjusted when the brake master cylinder is replaced with a new one. The adjustment is not
necessary when the brake master cylinder is reinstalled and the brake booster is replaced with a new one.
a. Apply chalk to the tip of an accessory tool.
HINT: An accessory tool is enclosed with a new brake master cylinder sub-assembly.
b. Place the accessory tool on the brake booster assembly.
