Seat Belt Tensioner: Removal and Replacement

SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER

REMOVAL 

CAUTION: 

-

When removing the seat belt pretensioner, work must be started 90 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to the "LOCK" position and the
negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.

Never disassemble the front seat outer belt.

-

Never use seat belt pretensioner from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace new one.

REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT

a. Regular cab, Extra cab:

Remove the quarter trim.

b. Double cab:

Remove the center pillar.

c. Pull the locking button and disconnect the pretensioner connector.
d. Remove the 2 bolts and front seat outer belt with the pretensioner.

Torque:
36 N.m (365 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf) for upper bolt
42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) for lower bolt 

INSTALLATION 
Installation is in the reverse order of removal procedure.
