Radiator Cooling Fan Motor Relay: Testing and Inspection

1. Inspect No. 1 cooling fan relay as follows:

a. Ensure continuity exists between terminals 85 and 86, Fig. 14.

b. Ensure continuity exists between terminals 30 and 87.
c. Apply battery voltage across terminals 85 and 86.
d. Ensure continuity does not exist between terminals 30 and 87.
e. If continuity is not as specified, replace relay.

2. Inspect No. 2 cooling fan relay as follows:

a. Ensure continuity exists between terminals 85 and 86, Fig. 15.

b. Ensure continuity exists between terminals 30 and 87.
c. Ensure continuity does not exist between terminals 30 and 87.
d. Apply battery voltage across terminals 85 and 86.
e. Ensure continuity does not exist between terminals 30 and 87.
f.

Ensure continuity exists between terminals 30 and 87.

g. If continuity is not as specified, replace relay.

3. Inspect No. 3 cooling fan relay as follows:

a. Ensure continuity exists between terminals 85 and 86, Fig. 16.
