1. Measure PS vane pump rotating torque.

a. Check that the pump rotates smoothly without abnormal noise.
b. Using a torque wrench, check the pump rotating torque.

Rotating torque: 0.2 Nm (2.2 inch lbs.) or less 

2. Remove vane pump pulley.

Using Special Service Tool (SST) 09960-10010 (09962-01000, 09963-01000) or equivalent, stop the pulley rotating and remove the nut.

3. Remove front and rear brackets.

Remove the 3 bolts and brackets.

4. Remove protector.

Remove the 2 bolts and protector.

5. Remove oil reservoir.

a. Remove the 3 bolts.
b. Remove the O-ring from the reservoir.

6. Remove pressure feed No.2 tube.

Remove the union bolt and 2 gaskets.

7. Remove pressure port union, flow control valve and compression spring.

Remove the O-ring from the union.

8. Remove rear housing.

a. Remove the 2 bolts.
b. Remove the 2 O-rings from the housing.

9. Remove wave washer.

10. Remove side plate.
11. Remove gasket.
12. Remove cam ring, 10 vane plates and vane pump rotor.

NOTICE:  Take care not to drop the plate.

13. Remove straight pins.

Remove the 2 pins from the front housing.

14. Remove vane pump shaft with bearing.

a. Using snap ring pliers, remove the snap ring from the front housing.
b. Wind vinyl tape on the serrated part of the shaft.
