Evaporator Case: Testing and Inspection
Component Inspection

INSPECTION

1. CHECK EVAPORATOR FINS FOR BLOCKAGE

If the fins are clogged clean them with compressed air.

2. CHECK FITTING FOR CRACKS FOR SCRATCHES

If necessary repair or replace.

3. INSPECT THERMISTOR RESISTANCE

a. Remove the A/C evaporator temperature sensor (cooler thermister No.1).

b. Measure the resistance according tor the value(s) in the table.

NOTICE: 
-

Even slightly touching sensor may change the resistance value. Be sure to hold the connector of the sensor.

When measuring the sensor temperature must be the same as the ambient temperature.

HINT:  As the temperature increases, the resistance decreases (see the graph below).
