Removal

PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE PEDAL: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

2. RELEASE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL

3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH   See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Instrument Panel Safety Pad (for Column Shift Type)/Removal

4. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH   See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard

/ Instrument Panel/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Instrument Panel Safety Pad (for Column Shift Type)/Removal

5. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY   See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Driver Side Knee Airbag Assembly/Removal

6. DISCONNECT NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the lock nut and adjustment nut.
