Alignment: Service and Repair
Front
Prior to checking and resetting front wheel alignment, check tire pressure to ensure it is correct, check wheel bearings for looseness and correct as
necessary and check wheel runout with a dial indicator. Wheel runout should not exceed .047 inch (1.2mm).
CASTER & CAMBER
2WD
Caster and camber are adjusted by turning the strut bar nut or the adjusting cam. Adjusting cam should not be turned more than 4.5 graduations from
center position. Do not turn strut bar nut more than three threads from original position. Torque adjusting cam bolt to 112 ft. lbs., and strut bar nut to 89
ft. lbs

4WD
Caster and camber are adjusted by rotating front and/or rear adjusting cams as shown, Figs. 3 and 4.
TOE IN
Measure length of tie rod on each side and adjust to be equal. Adjust toe-in by turning adjusting tubes equal amounts. Clamp adjusting tubes after
aligning clamps with tube slots. Lock tie rod ends so that inner and outer ends are at right angles to each other.
