Air Cleaner Housing: Description and Operation
Air Flow Meter - Engine Compartment
The Air Cleaner, located on the LH side of the engine compartment, houses the air filter which filters the engine intake air. The filter is of the dry
element type and can be cleaned with compressed air or replaced when it has become unserviceable. A clean filter is essential to the proper operation of
the EFI system.
Because fuel is injected at the intake ports of the engine, preheating of the intake air is not necessary. Without the intake air heater (Thermal Air
Cleaner), cool air with greater air density is delivered to the air induction system, producing more engine power in cold ambient conditions.
