Wiper Switch: Service and Repair
Combination Switch
Removal/Installation
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove horn button screws and horn button.
3.
Scribe alignment marks on steering wheel and steering shaft.
4.
Remove steering wheel nut.
5.
Using a steering wheel puller, remove steering wheel.
6.
Remove steering column upper and lower covers.
7.
Disconnect switch connectors, remove screws and combination switch.
8.
Reverse procedure to install.

1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove steering wheel, then upper and lower steering column covers.
3.
Disconnect combination switch connector, then using a small screwdriver, disengage headlight and dimmer switch wiring from combination switch
connector. Note position of wires.
4.
On models with cruise control, removal of slip ring may be necessary. Remove screws, headlight and dimmer switch, then ball and spring
assembly, Fig. 9.
5.
On all models, install headlight and dimmer switch onto combination switch.
6.
Insert spring into headlight and dimmer lever, than install lever and screw onto combination switch, Fig. 10.
7.
Position ball on the spring, Fig. 11 and place headlight and dimmer switch lever into HI position. Install screws and clamp, Fig. 11.
8.
Ensure switch operates smoothly in each position.
