Raise rear of vehicle and place stands under frame and rear axle housing.
2.
Disconnect shock absorber from upper and lower mountings and remove shock absorber from vehicle, Fig. 3.

Disconnect parking brake equalizer from parking brake intermediate lever.
4.
Remove U-bolts and spring seats
5.
On 4 wheel drive models, remove spring bumper.
6.
On all models, position a suitable jack under rear axle housing and raise housing to relieve weight from rear springs.
7.
Remove spring shackle nuts and inner plate, then using a suitable pry bar, remove spring shackle.
8.
Remove two bolts retaining spring bracket and hanger pin nut, then drive out spring hanger pin.
9.
Remove spring assembly from vehicle.
10.
Reverse procedure to install.
