SUBJECT:
SPECIAL SERVICE CAMPAIGN - SSC K01
Toyota will initiate a special service campaign to inspect and, if necessary, replace the steering bevel gear assembly in certain 1986, 1987 and 1988
Toyota Vans and Cargo Vans.
The steering bevel gear assembly which transmits steering effort to the steering gear, may have water contamination which could result in rust corrosion.
If the vehicle is continued to be driven in this corroded condition, the steering effort may become gradually harder and in worst condition, the steering
wheel can operate erratically and cause potential vehicle steering problems.
You are requested, using the following information, to inspect the steering bevel gear assembly on the vehicles involved in this campaign, including all
vehicles currently in your stock.
Note:
You will be sent SSC notifications with your dealer's name and address for vehicles which, according to our record you have in stock. If
any vehicles in your stock involved in this campaign have been sold to an ultimate customer prior to receipt of this notification, please
contact this known customer and perform the necessary repairs.
