Remove locknut and measure protruding bolt end ``A,'' Fig. 22, for reference when adjusting vehicle height.

Loosen adjusting nut and remove torsion bar and arm.

Remove air intake duct.

6.

Remove cotter pin and nut from upper ball joint stud. Using suitable tool, disconnect ball joint from steering knuckle taking care not to damage
ball joint boot, and remove ball joint from arm.

7.

Remove bolts and upper control arm from frame.

8.

Bushings can be replaced using suitable tools.

9.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following torque specifications: upper control arm front bolt, 65 ft. lbs. (88 Nm); upper control arm rear
bolt, 112 ft. lbs. (152 Nm); ball joint to control arm bolts, 22 ft. lbs. (29 Nm); ball joint to steering knuckle, 58 ft. lbs. (78 Nm).
