Front Wheel Suspension, Wheels and Tyres  

General Information  

On removal of vehicle wheels, mark position in relation to wheel hub. This mark is an important guide for installation. When installing always tighten to the prescribed torque of 110 Nm/81 lbf. ft.  

Disconnect the battery ground cable before all operations.  

Special service tools can be found in the "Opel/Vauxhall Special Service Tools" catalogue; other required tools and equipment can be found in the "Opel/Vauxhall Workshop Equipment" catalogue.  

On threaded connections which are inserted with locking compound, the thread must be re-cut. If the new screws are not microencapsulated they must be inserted with Locking Compound.  

Remove the underride protector (1) if required for operations performed from below the vehicle. When installing, ensure tightening torque of 20 Nm/15 lbf. ft./15 lbf. ft.

General Information (continued)  

Ensure that there is no dirt between the wheel disc and wheel hub on installation. In addition, the contact surfaces must be plane and free from burrs.  

Always replace front springs/spring strut cartridges in pairs. Use spring strut cartridges from the same manufacturer.  

Observe the relevant environmental protection guidelines when disposing of brake fluid.  

Check the "best before" date before processing cements and sealing compounds, etc. Under no circumstances should products past this date be processed.  

Wiring harnesses and cable troughs that are detached or removed for repair work must always be refastened at the original point using genuine parts (cable ties, clips, cable trough holders, etc.) from the "Aftersales" Department.

Route brake hoses free of twisting. Avoid tensioning.  

All operations must be carried out under the mechanic's own responsibility according to the regulations of the local authority concerning health, accident prevention and environmental protection.
