Brake Linings - Rear Wheel Brakes, Remove and Install  

Object Number: 616191  Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Rear wheels, retaining pins from brake calliper from outside inwards. Observe released expanding springs (1).  

Object Number: 2383110  Size: DEFAULT

Brake linings from brake calliper shaft. Use brake lining remover. Clean brake calliper shaft with soft wire brush. Press piston back into housing with piston pusher.  

Object Number: 616201  Size: DEFAULT  Important!   

Brake fluid level rises in reservoir. If necessary, drain off.

Object Number: 616197  Size: DEFAULT  Measure   

Brake disc thickness - MKM-230-A. Check surface condition. Remaining thickness of brake disc min. 8 mm/0.315 in. Once this dimension is attained, new linings may be installed only one more time. After this, the brake discs must be replaced.  

Object Number: 616201  Size: DEFAULT  Important!   

If there is damage or leakage established for the piston protection cap, it is to be replaced - see operation "Brake calliper - Rear wheel brake overhaul".  

Object Number: 616196  Size: DEFAULT  Inspect   

Object Number: 2383111  Size: DEFAULT

Piston position with piston adjusting gauge. If necessary, correct with piston turning pliers.  

Object Number: 2378885  Size: DEFAULT

 

 

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Brake linings in brake calliper. Check free running of the lining in the guide. If necessary, coat support bracket with grease.  

Insert expanding spring (1) and press retaining pins (2) in brake calliper.  

Adjust clearance by completely depressing brake pedal several times. Correct brake fluid level.  

Mount rear wheels - tightening torque 110 Nm/81 lbf. ft.
