If transmission not yet removed: disconnect transmission from engine.
Mount engine on Installation Stand KM-412 with Adapter KM-412-9 (17 D: with KM-412-12) - remove attaching parts as necessary.
Disconnect all cable and hose connections from engine. Remove all attaching parts from engine - see corresponding operation.
Install, Connect
Emboss engine number in cylinder block (arrow) with numbers punch.
Drive centring sleeves (1) to stop in cylinder block with KM-427.
Attach all attaching parts to engine - see corresponding operations. Required tightening torques - see "Recommended Torque Values".
Attach all cable and hose connections to engine. Remove engine from Assembly Stands KM-412. Remove Adapter KM-412-9 (for 17 D: Adapter KM-412-12) from engine. If necessary: Attach transmission to engine.
Remove, Disconnect 
Install, Connect
