Vehicles with AF 22 automatic transmission and TC (Traction Control) System:

Vehicle travelling

Selector lever in "D"

Engine throttle valve CLOSED (accelerator pedal in idle position)

Engine throttle valve OPEN (briefly accelerate full)

Note:

The TECH 1 parameters "TC TPS LOAD SIG" and "TPS LOAD SIGNAL" should indicate approximately the same values. See also test step 17.

Trouble-shooting:

Cause of Fault:

(If nominal value is not attained)

·   Ignition OFF

·   Disconnect from transmission control unit wiring harness plug

·   Measure voltage:

from:      transmission control unit wiring harness plug Ter. 15

to:          ground, Ter. 31

less than 0.1 V

·   Short circuiit to voltage

from:      transmission control unit wiring harness plug Ter. 15

to:          Traction Control wiring harness plug Ter. 4

·   Connect dwell meter

from:      transmission control unit wiring harness plug Ter. 15

to:          ground, Ter. 31

·   Ignition ON

·   Engine running at idle speed, operating temperature

·   Accelerate to full throttle briefly:

about 0%

greater than 5%

greater than 20%

·   Circuit interruption

from:      transmission control unit wiring harness plug Ter. 15

to:          Traction Control wiring harness plug Ter. 4

·   Short circuit to ground

from:      transmission control unit wiring harness plug Ter. 15

to:          Traction Control wiring harness plug Ter. 4

·   Traction Control control unit defective.

If nominal values are attained

·   Transmission control unit defective.
