Release rear side of upholstery in a circular motion (1). Release side airbag wiring harness from front seat frame (3).

For vehicles with sports seats: (I) remove edge protector (2), unclamp rear side of upholstery from seat backrest frame.

Release and remove side airbag wiring harness plug (1), side airbag.

Illustration I shows alternator up to MY '99, illustration II shows inflator as of MY '99.

Caution

Always set aside airbag unit with padded side upwards!

  Install

Side airbag to front seat backrest – tightening torque 5 Nm / 4 lbf. ft.

Caution

Side airbag washers are self-locking and must be replaced.

  Install

Wiring harness plug for side airbag, side airbag wiring harness, insert edge protector, upholstery, battery.
