Front Seats - Leather cushion damaged

Upholstery front seat damaged during seat folding.

 

Cause:

Interference between recliner under part, plastic cover and trim front seat back.

 

Production Solution:

As of VIN W0L0TGF08Y5231774 modified cushions are used.

 

Remedy:

No

 

Replace cushion front seat back, upholstery and plastic trim.

Working procedure: 1.    Disconnect battery and wait one minute until condenser is discharged. 2.    Remove front seat,          -      see working procedure "Front Seat, Remove and Install", unit "C", Service Instruction Astra-G.   3.    Remove seat belt tensioner,          -      see working procedure "Seat Belt Tensioner, Remove and Install", unit "C", Service Instruction Astra-G.   4.    Remove backrest front seat,          -      see working procedure "Backrest - Front Seat, Remove and Install" unit "C", Service Instruction Astra-G.   5.    Remove upholstery/cushion front seat,          -      see working procedure "Upholstery/Cushion - Front Seat, Remove and Install" or "Upholstery/Cushion - Front Seat, Remove and Install (active headrest) ", unit "C", Service Instruction Astra-G.   6.    Remove upholstery/cushion front seat backrest,        -      see working procedure "Upholstery/Cushion - Front Seat Backrest, Remove and Install" or "Upholstery/Cushion - Front Seat Backrest, Remove and Install (active headrest) ", unit "C", Service Instruction Astra-G.   Note:        In order not to damage the guide sleeve of the head restraint, two screw drivers are to be inserted laterally into the guide sleeves of the head restraint (pic. I) to press the detent noses of the guide sleeves - head restraint together (pic. I, arrows) and to remove the guide sleeve - head restraint upwards.

 

 

Installation is done in opposite order.
