Vacuum Line – Brake Servo, Remove and Install and / or Non-return Valve, Replace

  Remove

Withdraw vacuum line with elbow (1) from brake servo.

Remove quick fittings (2) for vacuum line from inlet manifold (for vehicles with petrol engines) or from vacuum pump (for vehicles with diesel engines) – release quick fittings by pressing in locking mechanism (arrow).

For vehicles with Y 17 DT engine: Remove union nut for vacuum line from vacuum pump.

Remove vacuum line.

  Disassemble

Cut open vacuum line at connections (1) and (2) and remove from connectors.

  Assemble

Cut new vacuum hose to corresponding length (rubber hose with textile reinforcement) and mount with new clamps and KM-J-22610.

Caution

Ensure that the arrow (3) on the non-return valve points in the direction of the intake manifold or vacuum pump.

  Install

Press vacuum lines with elbow into brake servo. Connect quick fitting for vacuum line to connecting piece on intake manifold or vacuum pump. Ensure that all the connections are completely sealed.

For vehicles with Y 17 DT engine: Attach union nut (1) for vacuum line to vacuum pump – tightening torque 18 Nm / 13 lbf. ft.

Check operation of brake servo – see operation "Brake Servo, Check".
