Brake Disc, Check for Runout

  Remove

Remove relevant wheel.

Attach brake disc with washer and wheel bolts (3) to wheel hub. Attach Dial Gauge MKM-571-B (2) with magnetic base (1). Set dial gauge to zero.

  Measure

Turn brake disc at least one revolution. Permissible lateral runout max. 0.11 mm (front wheel brake) and max. 0.13 mm (rear wheel brake).

If lateral runout is greater than indicated: remove disc brake and check contact surfaces – see operation "Brake Disc – Front Wheel Brakes, Remove and Install (Steering Knuckle without Integrated Brake Carrier)", "Brake Disc – Front Wheel Brakes, Remove and Install (Steering Knuckle with Integrated Brake Carrier)" or "Brake Disc – Rear Wheel Brakes, Remove and Install". Check wheel hub for runout – see operation "Wheel Bearing Unit, Measuring Misalignment" and "Wheel Bearing Unit, Measuring Plane and Runout Deviation" in groups "E" and "F". Repeat measuring procedure.

  Remove

Detach Measuring Unit MKM-571-B with magnetic base.

Detach wheel bolts with washers.

  Install

Connect corresponding wheel – 110 Nm / 81 lbf. ft.
