Thermostat, Remove and Install (X 14 XE, Z 14 XE,
X 16 XEL, Z 16 XE, Z 16 YNG)
 Remove
|
Remove engine cover.
Open coolant drain bolt – collect escaping coolant.
Detach coolant hoses (1) and (2) from thermostat housing.
Detach thermostat housing cover (3) from thermostat housing.
 Clean
Clean sealing surfaces and remove gasket residues.

Install
|
Insert seal ring in thermostat housing cover.
Attach thermostat housing cover to thermostat housing with
thermostat – tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.
Attach coolant hoses.
Install engine cover.
Inspect
Charge cooling system – see operations "Cooling System,
Charge and Bleed" and "Cooling System, Check for Leaks".
