V-belt Tension, Check and Adjust belt Tension, Check and Adjust > < Ribbed V-belt, Remove and Install

Ribbed V-belt Tensioner Assembly, Remove and Install

  Remove

Remove lower engine compartment cover – see operation "Lower Engine Compartment Cover, Remove and Install" in group "A".

Mark running direction of ribbed V-belt. Relieve tension of ribbed V-belt via ribbed V-belt tensioner and remove from tension roller.

Remove fastening bolts (1) and (2) – remove ribbed V-belt tensioner.

Remove damper (3) from tensioner – note installation position.

Caution

Damper must only be stored upright. Incorrectly stored dampers can be bled by compressing them several times in installation position.

  Install

Attach damper to tensioner – tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.

Install ribbed V-belt tensioner on auxiliary aggregates main bracket – tightening torque 42 Nm / 31 lbf. ft.

Attach damper to auxiliary aggregates support – tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.

Mount ribbed V-belt and tension ribbed V-belt via ribbed V-belt tension roller. Ensure direction of travel and installation position of ribbed V-belt are correct.

Install lower engine compartment cover – see operation "Lower Engine Compartment Cover, Remove and Install" in group "A".
