Immobiliser Control Unit, Remove and Install

Caution

The security code must be reset with TECH 2 before removing the immobiliser control unit when replacing or swapping immobiliser control unit – see corresponding Checking Procedures.

  Remove

Remove signal switch panelling – 5 fastening bolts (arrows). Detach ignition key (3) and ignition lock trim (2).

Version I:

Release and disconnect wiring harness plug. Unclip and disconnect immobiliser control unit (1) from ignition lock housing (5).

 

Version II with catch lugs (arrow):

Remove lock cylinder (4) – see operation "Lock Cylinder for Steering / Ignition Lock, Remove and Install" in group "N". Detach immobiliser control unit from ignition lock housing.

National version: remove protective cap (6). Unlock and detach wiring harness plug.

  Install

Version I:

Connect wiring harness plug to immobiliser control unit. National version: Attach protective cap and attach immobiliser control unit to ignition lock housing.

Version II:

Attach immobiliser control unit to ignition housing and connect wiring harness plug to immobiliser control unit. Lock Cylinder for Steering and Ignition Lock, Install.


Attach signal switch panelling and ignition lock cover.

  • The ignition lock cover for Version I can only be used in this version.
  • The ignition lock cover for Version II can be used in Versions I and II.
