Injection valves, Remove and Install (X 14 XE, Z
14 XE, X 16 XEL, Z 16 XE, Z16 YNG)
 Remove
|
Remove engine cover (2).
Detach wiring harness plug from intake air temperature sensor
and detach air intake manifold (1) from upper part of air cleaner
housing as well as from throttle body.
Detach engine vent hoses from cylinder head cover.
Detach or disconnect all wiring connections which are connected
to the plug strip (3) and place out of way – note cable
routing.
Detach plug strip from injectors with wiring trough and place to
one side.

Caution
Fuel leak – observe safety regulations and national
legislation. Reduce fuel with Pressure Tester KM-J-34730-91 via
testing port – collect escaping fuel in suitable
container.
Remove
|
For X 14 XE, X 16 XEL: Detach vacuum hose (1) from fuel pressure
regulator.
Detach fuel line (2) from fuel distributor pipe.
Unscrew fastening bolts (arrows) for fuel distributor pipe.
Remove fuel distributor pipe with injectors from intake manifold
flange.

For Z 14 XE, Z 16 XE, Z 16 YNG:
Detach fuel feed line (1) from fuel distributor pipe (2).
Unscrew fastening bolts (arrows) for fuel distributor pipe.
Remove fuel distributor pipe with injectors from intake manifold
flange.

Detach spring clip (1) for relevant injector and remove
injector.
Install
Coat new seal ring for injector with clean engine oil.
Insert injector in fuel distributor pipe and fasten with spring
clip – ensure installation position is correct.
Insert fuel distributor pipe with injectors in intake manifold
flange and fasten – tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.
For X 14 XE, X 16 XEL: Attach fuel lines to fuel distributor
pipe – tightening torque 15 Nm / 11 lbf. ft.
Attach vacuum hose for fuel pressure regulator. Connect plug
strip to injectors – plug strip must engage audibly –
ensure correct seating.

For Z 14 XE, Z 16 XE, Z 16 YNG: Attach fuel feed line to fuel
distributor pipe – tightening torque 15 Nm / 11 lbf. ft.
Connect or attach all cable connections, that are connected to
the plug strip or cable bundle – note cable routing. Attach
engine vent hose to cylinder head cover. Attach air intake manifold
to upper part of air cleaner housing and to throttle body. Connect
wiring harness plug to intake air temperature sensor. Install
engine cover.
