Engine Control Unit, Remove and Install (Z 16
SE)
Note: The security
code must be reset with TECH 2 before removal when replacing or
swapping engine control unit – see corresponding Checking
Procedures.

 Remove
Detach battery ground cable.
Release and detach wiring harness plugs (1) and (5) from engine
control unit in direction of arrow.
Remove intake pipe pressure sensor wiring harness bracket (2)
and exhaust gas recirculation valve from engine control unit.
Remove ground cable (4) from engine control unit.
Detach fuel line bracket (3) from engine control unit.
Remove engine control unit from intake manifold.

Install
Position engine control unit on intake manifold and attach fuel
line bracket to engine control unit.
Attach ground cable to engine control unit.
Attach and intake pipe pressure sensor wiring harness bracket
and exhaust gas recirculation valve to engine control unit.
Connect wiring harness plugs to engine control unit and lock
– ensure that plug contacts and plug seating are correct.
Connect ground cable to battery.
