Fuel Pressure Regulator, Remove and Install
Caution
|
Fuel leak – observe safety regulations and national
legislation. Reduce fuel pressure with Pressure Tester
KM-J-34730-91 via testing port (2). Collect escaping fuel in
suitable container.
 Remove
For Z 20 LET engine: Remove air intake pipe – see
illustration "Air Duct (Z 20 LET)".
Detach engine vent hose (1) from cylinder head cover.
Disconnect vacuum line (3) from fuel pressure regulator. Remove
fastening clamp (4) from fuel pressure regulator and fuel
distributor pipe.
Mark installation position and carefully remove fuel pressure
regulator from fuel distributor pipe – ensure utmost
cleanliness.
Caution
Damaged seal rings (5) must be replaced.

Install
Coat seal rings lightly with silicone grease (white) prior to
assembly.
Note installation position of fuel pressure regulator. Insert
fuel pressure regulator in fuel distributor pipe – ensure
utmost cleanliness.
Install fastening clamp at fuel pressure regulator and fuel
distributor tube – tightening torque 5 Nm / 4 lbf. ft.
Connect vacuum hose to fuel pressure regulator.
Attach engine vent hose to cylinder head cover.
For Z 20 LET engine: Install air intake pipe – see
illustration "Air Duct (Z 20 LET)".
