For X 16 SZR engine: Remove air cleaner housing (1) with air intake cover (2) – see illustration "Air Ducts (X 16 SZR)". Remove engine vent hose (3) from camshaft housing cover. Detach wiring harness plug for crankshaft pulse pick-up (7) from wiring trough and ground cable (6) from crankshaft housing and lay aside. Remove fastening bolts (5) and lay aside wiring trough (4) to rear.

Remove engine vent hose (1) from camshaft housing and engine vent flange.

Remove coolant pipe (2) from transmission.

Remove starter – see operation "Starter, Remove and Install".

Detach engine vent flange (3) from cylinder block and remove downwards.

  Clean

Clean sealing surfaces.

Insert new seal (2) – note installation position, bead (1) must point upwards to engine vent flange.

Attach engine vent flange to cylinder block – tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.

Install starter – see operation "Starter, Remove and Install".

Attach coolant pipe to transmission – tightening torque 60 Nm / 44 lbf. ft.

Attach engine vent hose to engine vent flange and camshaft housing.
