Engine, Repair Using Short-block
 Remove
Remove engine – see operation "Engine, Remove and
Install".
Detach cooling module from front axle body.
Suspend engine with transmission on workshop crane and detach
from front axle body.
Install
Attach Adapter KM-412-10 to cylinder block – remove
requisite attaching parts.
Install engine with transmission to Overhaul Stand KM-412.
Remove
Remove transmission from cylinder block.
Remove all cable and hose connections from engine.
Remove all attaching parts from engine – see corresponding
operations.
Install

Emboss engine number in cylinder block (arrow) with numbers
punch.
Install all attaching parts on engine – see corresponding
operations. Required tightening torques – see "Recommended
Torque Values".
Attach all cable and hose connections to engine.
Attach transmission to cylinder block.
Remove
Remove engine from overhaul stand and adapter from engine.

Install
Attach engine with transmission to front axle body.
Unhitch engine from workshop crane.
Attach cooling module to front axle body.
Install engine – see operation "Engine, Remove and
Install".
