 Remove
Remove air intake cover – see illustration "Air Ducts (X
16 SZR)".
Remove pre-heating hose (1) from heat shield and resonator.
Inspect
Check vacuum unit (2) in resonator: Run engine – valve to
warm air duct (3) should remain open up to a temperature of 35
°C. Run engine and heat resonator in valve area to approx. 40
°C/104 °F (industrial hot air dryer) – valve to warm
air duct must close.
Check expansion element regulator (4) in air intake cover: Run
engine and heat expansion element regulator to approx. 40
°C/104 °F (industrial hot air dryer) – valve to warm
air duct must close.
