Front Ring Gear Assembly with Freewheel F1 and
Planetary Carrier, Remove and Install (AF 17)
 Remove
Remove transmission – see operation "Transmission, Remove
and Install (AF 13-II/AF 17)".
Remove multi-plate clutch assembly C1- see operation
"Multi-plate Clutch C1, Remove and Install (AF 17)".
Remove multi-plate clutch assembly C0 and C3 – see
operation "Multi-plate Clutch C0 and C3, Remove and Install (AF
17)".
Remove rear ring gear with freewheel F0 - see operation "Rear
Ring Gear with Freewheel F0, Remove and Install (AF 17)".

Remove thrust washer (1) and thrust bearing assembly (2) from
planetary carrier or sun gear.
Remove clutch hub for multi-plate clutch assembly C0 (3) - use
ring pliers (4) to open out retaining ring and remove.

Remove sun gear (1) and planetary carrier (2).
Remove friction washer (3) from planetary carrier.
Remove axial needle bearing (4) and front ring gear with
freewheel F1 and planetary carrier (5) from multi-disc brake
B2.

Install
Align lining plates of multi-disc brake B2.
Insert front ring gear with freewheel F1 (2) in multi-disc brake
B2 – install thrust bearing assembly (3).

Attach friction washer (1) to planet carrier with assembly
grease.
Insert planet carrier (5) sun gear (4).
Install clutch hub for multi-plate clutch C0 (6). Insert new
retaining ring with ring pliers (7).
Place thrust washer (8) and thrust bearing assembly (9) onto
planetary carrier or sun gear.

Install rear ring gear with freewheel F0 - see operation "Rear
Ring Gear with Freewheel F0, Remove and Install (AF 17)".
Install multi-plate clutch assembly C0 and C3 – see
operation "Multi-plate Clutch Assembly C0 and C3, Remove and
Install (AF 17)".
Install multi-plate clutch assembly C1- see operation
"Multi-plate Clutch C1, Remove and Install (AF 17)".
Install transmission – see operation "Transmission, Remove
and Install (AF 13-II/AF 17)".
